John McCain Stood Up Larry King and David Letterman, Hasn’t Rescheduled King!
Really people, if you’re going to take control of the Oval Office you can’t wimp out against CNN’s Larry King! Everyone speaks to Larry! World leaders, religious leaders, entertainers, Larry King interrogates …sorry, interviews them all with the same smile and pleasant tone of voice. Why is John McCain not willing to go there? He’s commented as saying to CNN that “I will not risk the wrath of Larry King.” Excuse me? You want to be the 44th President of the US, and you don’t want to “risk the wrath” of a TV personality? What kind of credibility does that give to a man who rests most of his credentials on being a soldier and a maverick? Is he so unsure of his party’s platform that he believes Larry King can unmask its flaws? It sure makes you wonder!
CNN also reports that they have invited Sarah Palin to guest on Larry King but so far she’s kept out of the picture. On his last visit to Larry King he offered up his vice president as someone who would be on the Larry King show. I guess since then he’s learned enough about Sarah Palin to realize that Larry King knows more about politics and international affairs than Sarah Palin could ever hope to learn in a term in the VP’s office! Better to keep her role where it’s more suited, like on SNL where the script suits her personality and questions like “what is a precondition” don’t have her making a signature swift change in topic to something she does know, like say Obama is a terrorist.
On a completely different note, I’m giving a plug to one of my fellow bloggers today who has posted a video inspired me today - not to write, but to be a better person. Aw…thanks for the plug. I watched that speech again this morning. It just makes me feel good.
Wimping out on Larry King is just sad, but it was fun to watch Letterman hand McCain his wrinkled ass (G. Gordon Liddy). If only the “legit” press would do the same.
